The smells of people’s dwellings.

By pryin

I recall, specifically as a child, noting how [arhh, I just got jamais vu over the word 'people'! - it is definitely correct] people’s houses would smell.

Whether it be more or less influenced by their kitchen or their detergent or their perfumes or their bin, nevertheless, different households hold different specific scents.

I doted upon the observation of a young buddy of mine (5 years old) when he commented “you smell like your apartment.” (For what it’s worth, I think it generally smells good.)

Sometimes the rotting veg odour of my own kitchen bin brings on nostalgia of my grandmother’s kitchen.
(The fragrance of oil of ulay also recalls her to me.)
